The Kibworth store was targeted last September
The Co-op has revealed new security measures it says will better protect its stores from cash machine theft gangs and armed robbers.
Motion-activated CCTV cameras and panic alarms are to be installed in Central England Co-op stores across Leicestershire and Northamptonshire
The retailer’s shops in Kibworth, Great Glen, Desborough and Lutterworth were among those targeted by raiders.
The new cameras will be trained on areas around cash machines and relayed to a security centre where they’ll be monitored around the clock and Police alerted if needed.
