Charles Set For Fundraising Trek

Written by on 13th March 2019

A Market Harborough man is preparing for a 12-day trek through mountains to raise money for two charities very close to his heart.

Charles Barton will climb around 12,000 feet to the Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal next month.

He and his wife set-up a charity that built and continues to run a centre for orphaned and disabled children in the South Asian country, after they went there on holiday in 2002 and saw their poor living conditions.

Sponsorship from the trek will be split between the New Futures Nepal Charity and Bloodwise – the blood cancer research charity.

Charles was diagnosed with blood cancer a few years ago and is treated with chemotherapy tablets.
