Cash For Bus Improvements Handed Back To Developers

Written by on 10th July 2018

Over half a million pounds that should have been spent on improvements to bus services has been handed back to developers.

£324,000 that was earmarked for improving bus services to the Warwick Road development in Kibworth wasn’t used after a commercial service starting running through the estate.

And over £260,000 due to be paid by developers on the Farndon Fields Estate in Market Harborough for bus improvements has been returned because roads across the estate weren’t finished in time.

Leicestershire County Council – which administered the so-called Section 106 payments – has pledged to review how the agreements are made.
