Bridge Work To Finally Resume

Work to complete the construction of a long-awaited footbridge over the railway in Little Bowden will finally resume next week.
It has been over three months since contractors were forced to leave the site, after it emerged a key piece of legal permission for the structure hadn’t been granted.

Network Rail say the final groundworks should take about three weeks to complete and the bridge – to link Glebe Road with Braybrooke Road – will then be opened.
It has been nearly four years since the light-controlled pedestrian crossing there was closed, after being deemed a safety risk. Since then pedestrians have faced a lengthy diversion route.
The construction of the bridge has been plagued by delays.
