Assault Allegation During Fernie Hunt

Police are investigating an alleged assault on a hunt saboteur during a meeting of the Fernie Hunt on Saturday.

It’s purported to have happened in a field off Saddington Road in Mowsley just before 2pm when the woman was left with minor injuries.

Officers are also looking into a report a car windscreen of a car belonging to a saboteur was smashed in Theddingworth later in the afternoon.

They say they are aware of images circulating on social media alleged to have been taken at the time that happened.

Anyone who witnessed either the alleged assault or criminal damage, or who has footage of either incident, is asked to call PC Daryl Sturgess on 101, quoting incident number 326 of 24 November.
