Arrests After Woman Seriously Injured In A14 Crash

Two people were arrested after a woman was seriously injured in a crash on the A14 near Naseby this afternoon.

She was a rear seat passenger in a white Ford 4×4 that left the westbound carriageway, travelled up an embankment and came to rest in a field.

The crash happened between junctions two and one at about 2pm and no other vehicles were involved.

The injured woman, aged in her 30s, was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for treatment.

An man aged 18 from Sutton Coldfield was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving with no insurance, while an 18-year-old woman from Walsall was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and serious assault.

Both remain in police custody.

Officers from Northamptonshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to hear from witnesses and anyone who may have dash-cam footage that captured any part of the collision.

The westbound carriageway was closed for several hours following the crash to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out.
