A man and two women have been arrested after a Police car was rammed in Stoughton yesterday before the car they were in crashed in Willoughby Waterleys.

It happened after officers had been called to reports of a burglary at 10.30am.  The car also collided with a tree before making off.

Fellow officers from the Roads Policing Unit then pursued the vehicle after spotting it at about midday, before it crashed into a parked car.

The occupants fled following the crash but were found with assistance from the Police Helicopter and a search dog.

A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police and burglary other than dwelling.

Two women, aged 39 and 34, were arrested on suspicion of being carried in a vehicle taken without the owner’s consent and burglary other than dwelling.

The man has since been released under investigation and the two women have been released with no further action.
