New Clampdown On Travelling Criminals

Police have launched a new clampdown on criminals travelling to Market Harborough to commit crime.

Intelligence suggests those responsible for a number of handbag snatches in supermarket car parks in recent weeks are from outside the area, as are some shoplifters.

Harborough Police teamed up with colleagues from Northamptonshire and the British Transport Police Officers to hold the first operation of its kind last Thursday.

It saw officers in plain-clothes travelling on trains to and from Market Harborough, as well as located at near-by railway stations.
