Armed Forces Day Flags Raised In Market Harborough

The Armed Forces Day flag has been raised on top of the Symington Building in Market Harborough and in the Memorial Gardens, to signal the start of Armed Forces Week.

The initiative has been held for the past 12 years, to recognise the work of the armed forces, past and present.
The usual civic ceremony on Church Square, to accompany the flag raising, was not able to take place this year because of the coronavirus pandemic, however Harborough Council has shared a video of the flag going up on the top of its building.

Some members of the Market Harborough branch of the Royal British Legion held a small ceremony as the flag was raised in the Memorial Gardens.
