Appeal After Motorcyclist Dies Following Crash

appealPolice are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died in hospital following a crash between Rothwell and Lamport on Saturday night.

Officers say the 23-year-old man was riding a black Kawasaki ER650 bike that left the road and collided with a hedge.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: “Police were alerted to the incident shortly before 9.30pm on Saturday after reports that a motorcyclist, travelling westbound in Lamport Road, Rothwell, had for reasons unknown, drifted wide round a left-hand bend, crossing the opposite carriageway before colliding with a hedgerow.

“The rider was unseated and the bike came to rest further down the road in the nearside hedgerow.

“He was taken to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire where he was pronounced dead.”

Officers are keen to hear from anyone that was on Lamport Road around the time and may have dashcam footage.
