Appeal After Dog Attack in Market Harborough

An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a man and his dog were attacked by another dog on a canal towpath in Market Harborough.
The incident happened just after 9am last Thursday (April 9) near the cut-through to Logan Crescent.
A large Rhodesian Ridgeback-type dog being walked by a man attacked a smaller dog, before biting the owner’s leg as he picked up his pet to protect it.
The larger dog pulled out a chunk of fur from the smaller Bolognese/Havanese cross (pictured), while the owner required medical treatment for his injuries.

Both dogs were on leads at the time.
It is believed a couple may have witnessed what happened and are urging them, or anyone else with information, to come forward.
Police are investigating and anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference 26000202843.
