Kibworth Homes Plan Set for Approval Despite Objections

More new housing could soon be built in Kibworth Beauchamp after plans for up to 32 homes were recommended for approval.
The proposal for land adjacent to The Nurseries off Fleckney Road would deliver 100% affordable housing.
More than 30 objections have been raised, with concerns including increased traffic and whether the village has the infrastructure to support further development. The parish council has also objected to the scheme.

The site where the new homes are proposed
Planning officers at Harborough District Council say outline planning permission should be approved due to housing need and what they describe as limited identified harm.
This is despite the site lying outside the defined Limits to Development in both the Harborough Local Plan and the Kibworths Neighbourhood Plan. Officers say “special circumstances” apply, including the council’s housing land supply shortfall and the delivery of fully affordable housing.
Two previous applications for housing and a care home on the site were refused.
Councillors are due to consider the application at a meeting on Tuesday.
