Another Petition Launched Over Christmas Lights

Another petition has been launched by independent traders in Market Harborough over Christmas lights.

They are unhappy they are not being offered free lit trees above their premises – like those on the High Street and Church Street.

The petition calls on it to be extended to all of the town centre independent shops, saying it’s not fair they should have to pay for the decorations.

It’s been set-up by Chloe Wiggins and Stacy Gaterill, who own Dynamic Hair on Adam and Eve Street.

They have paid for a lit Christmas Tree above their salon this year, and have done of the past six years.

Stacy spoke to Hfm:

Harborough Council say the offer was made to traders on the High Street because it is the main thoroughfare through town.
