Arrest After Scooter Rider Injured In Hit And Run

A woman has been arrested after a hit and run left a scooter rider was a serious foot injury.

It happened on the B576 Rothwell Road, between Desborough and Rothwell, just after 8pm on Saturday.

Police say a car struck the 24-year old female rider, knocking her off her scooter, before driving off at speed.

She was taken to hospital after being treated by paramedics at the scene.

A 35-year old-woman from Kettering is being questioned on suspicion of drink driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of it is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
