Tributes Paid After Leicester City Helicopter Crash

Tributes are being paid by people across Harborough to those killed in the helicopter crash outside Leicester City’s ground on Saturday night.

Club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha died, along with two of his staff members, the pilot and his girlfriend.

Football fans are continuing to gather outside the King Power Stadium, laying tributes to the Thai billionaire.

Harborough Town Chairman Laurence Jones and MP Neil O’Brien are among those who have spoken to Hfm, expressing their condolences to the families of those killed.

The aircraft had taken off from the pitch just seconds earlier, at around 8.30pm, before eyewitnesses reported it spiraled out of control and crashed to the ground in flames in the club’s staff car park.

Tributes were also paid at several local youth football matches yesterday, including a minute’s silence before games at Harborough Town and Fleckney Athletic.

The club will open a book of condolence tomorrow, while its E-F-L Cup game with Southampton has been postponed.

An investigation into the crash is continuing.
