Police say the man was not located, although a 53-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in custody.

Northamptonshire Police say posts on social media, stating officers had been held hostage during the incident, were completely false.

A scene guard remains in place at the property today.

“We understand that there were some community concerns regarding the significant police presence at the property yesterday.

“This was a precautionary measure and do not believe there to be any wider risk to the community.

“We will continue to assist our colleagues in the Met Police with their investigation today.”
