Woman Dies After Being Struck By Van On M1 Near Lutterworth

A woman has been killed after she was struck by a van on the M1 near Lutterworth early this morning.
Police were called to close to junction 20 at around 3am, following reports of someone in the northbound carriageway.
Leicestershire Police says it has made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office of Police Conduct due to recent Police contact with the woman.
The motorway remains closed – officers are appealing for witnesses.
