Praise For Market Harborough’s Street Pastors

The work of Market Harborough’s Street Pastors is being praised.
The team of 18 volunteers from local churches patrol on Friday and Saturday nights, offering support to people out in the town centre.
Since launching in 2009 they’ve helped over 4000 people, handed out over 600 lollipops, to help defuse potential aggressive situations, and provided 100 pairs of flip flops to women who have taken off uncomfortable shoes.
Leicestershire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Willy Bach and Community Safety officials from Harborough Council have met with the Street Pastors and say they provide an ‘invaluable service’ to the town.
