Residents Accuse Developer Of Flouting Planning Rules

Residents say work is taking place on a new homes development in Market Harborough when it shouldn’t be.
Some have been woken before 6am by noise from the site off Angel Drive on the Farndon Fields Estate, when it’s not permitted to start until 8am.
They also say work has also been going on Sundays and on Saturday afternoons, which also breaches planning conditions.
Harborough Council says it’s received several complaint and has been told developer Avant Homes will act.
An Avant Homes spokesperson said: “We continue to work closely with Harborough District Council to ensure agreed working hours are adhered to. Any contractors or suppliers in breach of the working hours will be identified and disciplined.”
Earlier this year planning bosses threatened Avant with Court action for flouting the agreed working hours.
