Symington’s Legacy Inspires Market Harborough Art Project

Written by on 14th September 2026

Utility boxes across Market Harborough are being given a colourful makeover as part of a project celebrating the town’s industrial heritage.

The designs are inspired by swimwear items once produced at the former Symington’s Corset factory, which played an important role in the town’s history.

The transformed boxes form part of a new art trail around Market Harborough, alongside an exhibition at Harborough Museum, as part of National Heritage Week.

The project is supported by Virgin Media and Harborough District Council and aims to highlights the town’s industrial past through art and public displays.
