Search Begins for Harborough District Sporting Heroes

Residents are being encouraged to nominate the people, clubs and organisations making a difference through sport and physical activity in the Harborough District.
Nominations are now open for the Harborough District Physical Activity Awards 2026, which will take place at Harborough Leisure Centre on Wednesday 18th November.
The annual event celebrates athletes, volunteers, coaches, teachers, schools, community groups and clubs from across the district, recognising their achievements and contribution to getting people active.

Organised through Active Together Harborough, the awards highlight the dedication and positive impact of those helping to create a more active and healthier district.
This year’s categories are:
- Sports Person of the Year
- Junior Sports Person of the Year
- Community Award
- Senior Team of the Year
- Junior Team of the Year
- Physical Activity Star Award
- Twilight Achiever of the Year
- Club of the Year
- Unsung Hero of the Year
- Disability Champion of the Year
- The Active Mums Club Award
The awards, supported by HFM, recognise a wide range of achievements, including sporting success, volunteering, community leadership, overcoming personal challenges and promoting inclusive opportunities to get active.
Anyone can nominate an individual, club, team, school or organisation that has made a positive contribution to sport or physical activity in the Harborough District.
The 2026 nomination form is now available HERE, with nominations closing on Sunday 11th October.
