Harborough Police Officers Awarded For Saving Man’s Life

Two police officers who saved a man’s life after he arrived at Market Harborough police station with serious injuries have received a national award.
Sergeant Paige Eaves and PC Dominic Parry were on duty when the critically injured man reached the station in July last year, after being attacked with a machete.
Sergeant Paige Eaves and PC Dominic Parry have been handed Royal Humane Society (RHS) Certificates of Commendation.
He had suffered deep gashes to his body and was losing life-threatening amounts of blood.
The officers quickly administered emergency first aid while urgent medical assistance was arranged and their actions have now been recognised with Royal Humane Society (RHS) Certificates of Commendation.
Inspector Chris Day, who oversees the officers, told HFM the award is well deserved and that both are humbled to receive the recognition:

Andy Chapman from the Royal Humane Society said the officers remained calm and acted quickly in the most difficult circumstances.
He said: “They were confronted by a horrific scenario. However, they managed to stay calm, realised that it was essential to stem the loss of blood if the man was to survive, and they took all the right steps to achieve that.
“As a result the man, who had been critically injured, did survive. But without their treatment he would not have lived.
“They did a remarkable job in the most harrowing of circumstances and without a shadow of doubt deserve the awards they have received.”
