Staff Threatened With Hammer During Shop Robbery

Staff were threatened with a hammer during a robbery at a shop in Desborough early this morning.

The incident happened at around 12.30am today at the Morrisons Daily on Braybrooke Road.

Northamptonshire Police says unknown offenders threatened staff with a hammer before stealing alcohol, cigarettes and cash.

The shop has been closed, with officers at the scene.

No description of the offenders is available at this stage.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have information which could help identify those responsible.

They are particularly keen to hear from drivers who were in Braybrooke Road at the time and may have inadvertently captured the incident on dash-cam footage.

The shop has been cordoned off and closed, with officers at the scene.
