Closure Date Confirmed For TG Jones in Market Harborough

TG Jones has confirmed its Market Harborough store will close on September 12th, following the appearance of closing-down posters last week.

The High Street shop, formerly WH Smith, has been trading in the town for more than 30 years and is closing as part of wider restructuring by the retailer.

Seven members of staff are set to lose their jobs, with TG Jones saying it is supporting those affected.

Staff are appealing for help to reunite a collection of photographs with their owner before the store closes.

Some of the staff have worked at the books and stationery store for many years, with more than 75 years of service between them.

A TG Jones spokesperson said: “As we work to secure the long-term future of TG Jones, we have confirmed that our Market Harborough store will close.

“We know this will be disappointing news for our colleagues, customers, and the local community. Our focus now is on supporting those affected and continuing to serve customers throughout the closure period.

“We would like to thank all of our colleagues for their commitment and the contribution they have made to TG Jones.”

Meanwhile, staff are appealing for help to reunite a collection of photographs with their owner before the store closes.

The photographs were found inside an album which had been bought from the shop and later returned.

When they went to put it back on sale, they discovered the photographs inside and are now hoping to return them to the person they belong to.

Anyone who recognises the photographs or believes they may be theirs is being asked to visit the store and ask for Bekah.
