EMR releases further details of strike action affecting passengers

East Midlands Railway has released further details of planned strike action, warning Market Harborough passengers of a significantly reduced timetable.
The RMT union has announced strike action this Saturday and the following two Saturdays in August, over what it describes as growing safety concerns which it says the company has failed to address.

EMR said there will be around one train an hour between Nottingham and London St Pancras, and between Sheffield and London St Pancras, with services operating only between 7am and 7pm.
The operator said it has also been notified of action short of strike by RMT members, which is expected to take place from 2 to 7 August, 9 to 14 August and from 16 August until further notice.
As a result, EMR has warned that services could be subject to short-notice alterations and cancellations, and advised passengers to check before travelling.
On the strike days – 1, 8 and 15 August – EMR said it will run a significantly reduced timetable.
