Walking Football Tournament Raises Over £5,000 For Prostate Cancer UK

Cancer survivors were at the centre of a charity walking football fundraiser in Market Harborough which raised more than £5,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.
Over ten teams took part in the event at Harborough Town FC yesterday, with one of the highlights seeing a Kick Out Cancer side made up of cancer survivors take on a celebrity all-stars team.
The celebrity team featured former Leicester City captain Matt Elliott, who joined other well-known names for the special match:

The fundraiser was organised by Harborough Hornets, Harborough Town FC’s walking football team, with the club also hoping the event would encourage more people to get involved in the sport.
Kick Out Cancer manager John Cooper said the event was about much more than football, bringing together people affected by cancer and helping to raise awareness of the disease:
Away from the pitch, visitors enjoyed a range of family activities including a tombola, live music on the HFM stage, a bouncy castle, food and refreshments.
