Multiple Fire Crews Respond to Landfill Blaze

Firefighters are responding to a large blaze at the landfill site in Shawell near Lutterworth.

Multiple crews from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service are working to tackle the fire, alongside colleagues from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The blaze has created a large plume of smoke and as a precaution, residents in the surrounding area are being advised to keep their doors and windows closed to help prevent smoke from entering their properties.

Motorists and members of the public are asked to avoid the area where possible to allow emergency services to continue their work safely.
