Residents have spoken of their shock after a stabbing in Market Harborough left a man in a critical condition.
Police cordons remain in place around Shropshire Close and Orchard Street, while Roman Way Recreation Ground has also been closed to the public as officers carry out searches.

Emergency services were called to Shropshire Close shortly before 11.30pm yesterday after a man in his 20s was found with a stab wound. He was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Shortly before 3.30am today, a second man in his 20s approached officers guarding the scene with significant cuts to his hand and arm. He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were found not to be life-threatening.
Following initial enquiries, a 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Police believe the two incidents are linked and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
People living nearby told HFM they were stunned by what had happened in what they described as a normally quiet part of the town.

Forensic teams are working at various locations in the area and Detective Sergeant Sam Blackhurst, from Leicestershire Police’s Complex Investigation Team, said: “We’re continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to both incidents, which we believe are linked to one another.
“I’m appealing for anyone who can help to come forward. This includes anyone who was in the area in the early hours of this morning or who saw or heard anything unusual or suspicious.
“I’d also like to speak to anyone who captured anything on a mobile phone, doorbell camera, CCTV or dashcam. Anything you can tell us could assist our investigation.”
