Revved up for the return of Market Harborough’s Classic Car Show

Thousands of people are expected to visit Market Harborough tomorrow as the town’s annual Classic Car Show returns.
Around 400 vintage and classic vehicles will line the town centre, with High Street transformed into a showcase of motoring history between 10am and 3pm.
The free event features live music, food and drink stalls, family entertainment and the chance to browse Market Harborough’s independent shops, cafés and restaurants. The HFM team will also be there throughout the day.

The event is organised by Harborough Live Events in partnership with Harborough District Council.
Steve Crook from Harborough Live Events told HFM the show has become one of the biggest events in the town’s calendar:

Alongside the vehicles, visitors will also have the chance to take part in a unique live art project.
Market Harborough artist Allan Levy will create a one-off piece of artwork during the day using hundreds of photographs submitted by visitors. People attending the event will be invited to scan a QR code and upload their favourite pictures, which will be incorporated into the artwork as it is created live:
Road closures will be in place
Road closures will be in place from 6.30am until 5pm on Sunday 5 July to allow the event to take place safely.
The following roads will be affected:
- St Mary’s Road at the junction with Mill Hill Road
- Northampton Road at the bridge
- Coventry Road at the entrance to The Commons car park
- Abbey Street at the junction with Fairfield Road
- High Street at the junction with Bowden Lane
- Roman Way at the junction with King’s Head Road
- King’s Road
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.
