Men Jailed After £1m Cannabis Factory Found in Lutterworth

Two men have been jailed after police uncovered a cannabis factory containing more than 1,600 plants worth over £1 million in Lutterworth.
Erald Mile, 29, and Eduart Filja, 31, both of no fixed abode, were each sentenced to two years and three months in prison after admitting producing cannabis.
Police discovered a large cannabis factory inside the premises.
The pair were arrested in March when officers executed a warrant at an industrial unit on Leicester Road. Police said both men initially attempted to flee before being detained.
Inside, officers discovered a sophisticated cannabis-growing operation in a building that had been vacant since a tool hire company moved out.
Both men pleaded guilty to producing a Class B drug at Leicester Crown Court.

The court also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs, equipment and mobile phones seized during the investigation.
Leicestershire Police say tackling large-scale cannabis factories remains a priority because the profits are often linked to organised crime. Officers also warned that illegal electricity bypasses commonly used at such sites can create a significant fire risk for neighbouring properties.
Police are continuing to encourage anyone with information about suspected cannabis grows to come forward, saying even small pieces of information can help build a wider intelligence picture.
