Excitement Builds as Carnival Comes to Town Tomorrow

Final preparations are under way ahead of the Market Harborough Carnival tomorrow.
The day will begin with hundreds of runners taking part in the carnival run through the town from 10am, followed by a parade of more than 15 floats, mounted on trucks provided by Sanderson Transport, setting off at 11.30am.
Nearly 900 people are expected to take part in the run, which kicks off the annual carnival celebrations before the parade sets off from Burnmill Road and follows a route through the town, with roads closed from 9am.

Entertainment and activities will then take place at Symington’s Recreation Ground, supported by HFM.
Once at the rec, there will be music, stalls and entertainment throughout the day, with two stages hosting live performances from around midday until 8.20pm.
Entry is £2 for children, £3 for adults and £8 for a family of four.

Here’s what’s happening on the HFM stage on Carnival Day:
1pm – Harborough Band
2pm – The Core Dance & Fitness Company
2.50pm – Harborough Academy of Performing Arts
3.30pm – RoseWood Theatre Company
4pm – Float presentation
Diversion routes will be clearly marked and all roads are expected to reopen by around 2pm, with phased openings taking place as the final floats and runners pass through.
