90 Arrested For Drink & Drug Driving In 5 Weeks

90 people have been arrested since June 1st during Leicestershire Police’s summer drink and drug drive clampdown.
71 have been caught for being over the limit and 19 under the influence of cannabis or cocaine behind the wheel.
Locally arrests have been made in Kibworth, Foxton, Bitteswell and Broughton Astley.
The campaign has been extended by two weeks this year, partly because of the World Cup.
A third of the arrests were made between 6am and 6pm and a quarter of the drivers caught were under the age of 24.
The Highest breath test reading so far is 166 – four and a half times the limit.
20 arrests have been made at the scene of accidents.
