Electrification Of Railway To Be Extended To Market Harborough

The electrification of the Midland Mainline is to be extended to Market Harborough.
Department of Transport bosses have confirmed the move, just over a year after announcing the upgrade of the line from London would stop at Kettering.
Campaigners are welcoming the announcement, which means 50 percent of the route between the capital and Sheffield will be electrified by 2023.
