Councillor Calls for Further Public Meeting

The deputy leader of Husbands Bosworth Parish Council says he was very disappointed by the lack of representation from Harborough District Council, Leicestershire County Council and various stakeholders at an important public meeting.
Hosted by Alberto Costa MP, the meeting at Lutterworth College on Friday night (15th August) was arranged to discuss numerous major developments which campaigners say threaten Lutterworth and its surrounding villages, including plans for 2,750 new houses east of the town.
Among Cllr James Bolter’s concerns for Husbands Bosworth are the lack of planned provision for any new secondary schools in the area.
Despite over 400 residents turning up for the meeting, he says there were very few people who could answer any questions…
Harborough District Council points out that Mr Costa’s meeting was attended by Cllr Jim Knight – who is the finance portfolio holder on cabinet – and Cllr David Gair, Audit Chair for the authority.
However, Cllr Bolter is calling for a further meeting to be held…
