Welland Park VJ Day 80th Event

Communities across South Leicestershire and North Northamptonshire are preparing to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of VJ Day this Friday (15th August) – exactly eight decades since Britain and its allies secured victory over Japan to bring an end to World War Two.

An event to mark this military milestone is taking place in Market Harborough’s Welland Park on Sunday (17th August).

You can make a voluntary donation to armed forces charity SSAFA, however event organiser Juliette says there’s no entrance charge…

The VJ Day 80th event – which is supported by HFM – will run from 10.30am until 3.30pm this Sunday in Welland Park.
