Firefighters Tackle Car Blaze On A6

No-one was hurt after a car set on fire on the A6 near Kibworth yesterday evening.

Firefighters from Market Harborough were called to deal with the blaze on Harborough Road just before 6.30pm.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The vehicle, a Subaru, had suffered mechanical failure, and the fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus.

“There were no casualties.”

The road was closed while the fire was extinguished and to allow for oil to be cleared from the carriageway.
