Paul Begins Gruelling 1000km Cycling Challenge

Written by on 9th May 2025

A Market Harborough man has begun a big fundraising challenge.

Paul Molyneux is cycling 1,000km on an indoor bike at the Snap Fitness gym in the town.

He hopes to complete the distance – the equivalent of cycling from London to Copenhagen in Denmark – in three days, which will coincide with the start of Mental Health awareness week.

Paul is raising money for Samaritans, where he is a volunteer at the charity’s Leicester branch and has already raised over £1,500 in sponsorship.

It is the first of two cycling challenges he is embarking on this year, as will switch to a gruelling 1,500km outdoor ride in August.

Paul spoke to HFM before beginning today’s ride:

Jason Samuel, Club Manager at Snap Fitness Market Harborough said: “We’re delighted to be able to play a small part in supporting Paul’s fundraising efforts and our community of members can’t wait to get behind him and cheer him on in the gym.”
