Poignant Ceremony Concludes VE Day 80 Commemorations

Events to mark to 80th anniversary of VE Day in Market Harborough concluded with a poignant ceremony last night.
The War Memorial on The Square was lit purple – the colour of the Combined Forces – as wreaths were laid during an Act Of Remembrance.

The ceremony took place after a service of thanksgiving at St Dionysius Church and wreaths were laid on behalf of the town’s services organisations and Harborough District Council.

Earlier in the day a flag-raising ceremony was held on Church Square.
