Harborough Runners Gear Up For London Marathon

Runners from across Harborough are taking part in tomorrow’s London Marathon.

They will join around 56,000 other people in taking to the streets of the capital for the iconic event.

Many have entered the marathon to raise money for charities close to their hearts, including HFM presenter Dec Moran.

Dec is running his first ever marathon to support Parkinson’s UK, in memory of his Nana Sheila Cooper and spoke to HFM’s Nick Shaw:

 

Other people from the Harborough area taking part in the marathon include Georgia Poynton, who is raising money for MacMillan Cancer Support in memory of her father, and Harborough Athletics Club members Amanda Pearce, Claire Laurent, Alicia Ramos, Gonzalez, Catherine Searce, Ellie Baverstock and 74-year-old Bill Kerr, who is running his 38th marathon.
