Campaign To Save ‘Highly Respected’ Head Of School

Written by on 20th March 2025

A campaign has been launched to stop a much-loved and highly-respected teacher being made redundant from a Harborough village school.

Parents say pupils at St Andrew’s C of E Primary School in North Kilworth has thrived under the leadership of Head of School Claire Rodi, which has seen the school recognised as one of the top performing nationally.

Her role is being lost under re-structuring by the Learn-Academies Trust (Learn-AT), which will include a single headteacher managing the school together with South Kilworth Primary.

Over 500 people have signed a petition demanding Mrs Rodi continues in her role and nine of the 14 school governors have resigned in protest.

Parents Nichole Turner and Hannah Kerr are helping to lead the campaign and spoke to HFM:

The Trust says it has addressed parental concerns and queries at length and with full transparency.

However, chair of governors Lesley Paris and governor Lizzie Webb, who also has children at the school, are among those who have resigned over the issue:

Richard Gray, Learn-AT’s Director of Finance and Operations, has responded to the campaign:
