New Petanque Pitches Open

Visitors to a popular Market Harborough park now have a new recreational facility to use – thanks to Harborough Welland u3a and funding from the District Council.
Brand new Petanque pitches have been built near the café in Welland Park – which anyone can use, free of charge.
Around a dozen u3a Petanque players attended the official launch yesterday (Monday 3rd March), to try it out.
Kevin Millard, Co-ordinator of the ‘New Experiences’ Group, says they first played Petanque at the Cricket Club – before deciding it would be even better to have their own facility….
