Go-Ahead Given For New HMO

The go-ahead has been given for new HMO (House In Multiple Occupation) close to Market Harborough town centre.
Harborough District Council has granted permission for the 18-bed premises to be created on Coventry Road, by partly demolishing and extending a two-storey building, previously used as student accommodation.
Last night’s meeting of the planning committee heard 14 objections to the plan had been received, the majority expressing concerns about lack of parking provision.
Councillors were also told there is a big need for such accommodation in the town for young professionals.

An empty building on Coventry Road will be converted into the new HMO
Four members of the planning committee voted in favour of granting planning permission and three voted against, so the plan was approved.
