Highway Bosses ‘Happy’ With 24-Hour Gym Plan
Written by HFM News on 10th January 2025
Highway bosses have raised no objections to a 24-hour gym opening in the former Carpetright premises Market Harborough.
They had requested more details from PureGym about whether the 44-space car park on the site – shared with the neighbouring Halfords store – would be adequate enough.
After receiving further information, the highways department at Leicestershire County Council is happy with the proposal for the premises on Rockingham Road.

Puregym wants to open in the former Carpetright store
PureGym, which runs over 350 gyms across the UK, announced plans to open in Market Harborough last October after Carpetright went into administration and closed its store in July.
The company is seeking permission to operate from the premises around-the-clock and to install new entrance doors, fire doors and a new air conditioning system.
Harborough District Council is expected to make a decision on the plans shortly.
