The go-ahead has been given for Market Harborough’s former NatWest Bank to be transformed into a restaurant and cocktail bar.
The building has stood empty since the branch closed over 18 months ago and will become the new home for the Everest Lounge restaurant, which is currently based near-by on St Mary’s Road.

Work is set to start soon inside the former bank, including creating the main dining room on the ground floor and a cocktail bar on the first floor, whilst retaining the character of the building.
The eatery and bar will create up to ten new jobs and it is hoped the new venue will open in time for Christmas or early in the new year.

Owner of Everest Lounge, Pradip Karanjit told HFM he is delighted the plan has been approved by Harborough District Council:
Everest Lounge will retain their current premises once the restaurant relocates and are planning an alternative use for it.
