Arrests After Driver Crashes During Police Pursuit

Two men were arrested after the driver of a car being perused by police crashed near Rothwell.

They were detained after the occupants initially fled the scene of the collision on foot.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police told HFM: “At 2pm yesterday (Thursday, August 15), the driver of a black Mercedes car failed to stop for police officers before crashing in Thorpe Lane, near Loddington.

“The two occupants of the car decamped from the vehicle before being arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and dangerous driving.”

A 25-year-old man from Lincolnshire remains in police custody, while a 38-year-old man from Leicestershire has since been released without charge.
