Man Jailed After Keyless Car Theft In Desborough

A man has been jailed for over ten months for his involvement in stealing a high-performance keyless car from Desborough.

Police found Linas Deltuva driving the Mercedes after it was stolen from outside a house in Wedgwood Close, in the early hours of December 11th last year.

The 39-year-old of Ham Meadow Drive, Northampton also admitted being involved in the theft of another car a month earlier in Barton Seagrave, near Kettering.

He was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court and speaking afterwards, investigating officer Detective Constable Vicky Wiley of CID North, said: “Linas Deltuva was part of a sophisticated theft operation, likely stealing cars to order.

“The theft of a car is a huge inconvenience as well as a distressing and costly experience for victims, and I’m glad we have been able to recover all but one of the vehicles involved as well as bring Deltuva to account for his crimes.”
