Construction of a new Aldi store in Market Harborough has moved closer.
Contractors working on behalf of the retailer have moved onto the site – at the junction of Rockingham Road and Gores Lane – to conduct final surveys.

Aldi is yet to confirm when the building of the new £5m store will start, however a spokesperson told HFM: “We are excited to be bringing a new store to Market Harborough.
“We are working on further site surveys and will be preparing a construction programme shortly which we will share with the local community.”
Once open the larger store will replace the retailer’s existing base on Springfield Street and create an additional 15 jobs.
Seven small business ‘starter units’ will also be built on the site.
The survey work has begun after Glenmere Timber Company vacated the land after being based there for many years.
The company will continue to operate from other sites in Market Harborough.
