A 12-year-old boy has been questioned after a member of staff was assaulted at Lutterworth High School yesterday.
The school was placed into lockdown following the incident shortly before 1pm and has said there was no truth to social media reports that a knife was involved.
Leicestershire Police say the pupil has been interviewed voluntarily after being detained by officers and enquiries into the incident are on-going.

Headteacher Julian Kirby said in a statement: “There was an incident at Lutterworth High School that necessitated a lockdown.
“All staff and students were safe, and nobody was harmed.
“Contrary to social media, there was no knife involved.”
