Council Rejects Plans For New Homes In Billesdon

Plans to build nearly 50 new homes in Billesdon have been refused by Harborough District Council.
Over 100 villagers objected to the scheme, which was earmarked for land off Gaulby Road.
The development would have included 30 custom house-build plots and a car park drop-off area for the nearby primary school.
Councillors went against the recommendation of planning officers in throwing out the plan, ruling it would be out of keeping with the character of the village due to its size and especially harmful in views from the public right of way crossing through the south of the site.
