Parents of students at Robert Smyth Academy were made aware of the incident by the school’s Safegaurding Team this afternoon.
The alert reads: “We have received a report from a parent, of a local primary school, that their son and his friend were approached by a couple on their way home from school on Tuesday.
“A woman opened her car door (a white Citroen) to block the path of the boys.
“The boys stopped and were then asked their name, age, school and year group. The woman was very persistent.
“The boys ran home and told their parents what had happened. They are both safe.
“Please remind your children to be careful when they are out and about in the community and to report anything suspicious.”
